As a part of the speaking assessment, you will be expected to submit a voice recording of your answers on our portal. For written assessment, you will have to scan and upload your manuscript (hand written) on our portal.
IELTS- The International English Language Testing System, is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers, who want to earn higher education degrees or work abroad. It tests the candidate’s speaking, reading, listening and writing ability in English language.
The candidates are tested on these four parameters namely speaking, reading, listening and writing. There are two categories of assessment IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training Test. IELTS Academic is undertaken by higher education aspirants and the IELTS General Training Test is usually taken by people who wish to immigrate to a English speaking country or by those who are travelling abroad for work. You will always take the listening, reading and writing parts all on the same day one after the other, with no breaks between them and speaking test can be scheduled on the same day or seven days piror or after the actual test day.
IELTS test will last for 2 hours 45 minutes.
There is no minimum age or minimum qualification for taking the IELTS Exam.
The IELTS Academic and General Training IELTS test are both graded to a 9-band scale. You will receive individual band scores for each assessment (writing, reading, listening and speaking), the average of which will be your overall IELTS band score.
IELTS – The International English Language Testing System, is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. This is a mandatory/specific pre-requisite while applying for higher education or immigration abroad.
The good news is that there is no limit to the number of times you can attempt this test.
No, you cannot fail in this IELTS test. There is no minimum scoring, you will be rather awarded with a band score on a scale of 1-9, for each assessment (writing, reading, listening and speaking). Following are the definitions of each band score:
  • Band 9- expert user
  • Band 8- very good user
  • Band 7- good user
  • Band 6- competent user
  • Band 5- moderate user
  • Band 4- limited user
  • Band 3- extremely limited user
  • Band 2 -intermittent user
  • Band 1- non user (minimum Band if you cannot use English at all)
  • Band 0 -if you do not attempt the test at all
Your IELTS score is valid for a period of 2 years from the date of the result form.
